Hello Everyone!

Need Help

We did SoftLanding Yesterday from USA via land Border Ambassador Bridge. But the officer refused to send the PR CARD to my Relatives. The Officer stated that PR Card will be issued once I will move permanently.

Is it possible now to get PR card in advance ? I don’t know why officer refused to take address of my relative. I know most of people using friend’s address for mailing PR card..
Is there any other way to contact IRCC from USA?
please share your experience..

Call them using the TextNow app like this whole thread is about? If you tell them you don't live there though, expect them to tell you to get lost. I assume this is what happened at the border. You told the officer you weren't actually moving.

Thankyou Sir for your reply.. As officer said we have to live 2 years out of 5 years in canada.. in that case if someone move to canada after 2 years of activating pr.. then pr card will be initiated?

Yeah you're fine for the first 3 years max. If you move after 2 years, like I did, you still have 1 year to be out of the country for vacations and stuff within the first 5 years. If you move after 2 years, you can still get your card then, but you must pay the fee to get it.

I would advise you to call and try to get the 180 day thing (for no extra fee) and say you're staying with your relatives until you find a permanent place. Figure out a way to say it that is not a lie but get your point across.

If we visit canada for 3-4 months at our relatives and initiate our pr card and plan to move our car after 6 months or 1 year is that fine too..? Because we have declared good to follow things..

You landed. You are a permanent resident. You can go to Canada whenever you please. :) You still have to contact the IRCC to get your PR card, so I suggest you do it within the first 180 days to get it for free.

Do you think it might work from Brazil? I'll try it on monday anyway

Thanks
I don't know why it wouldn't, unless the app is blocked in Brazil. The app gives you a Canadian number to call from and it only uses data/wifi.
