Guidance about passport renewal while super visa is in process

Hello All,

My parents got the medical request for their super visa application and it is currently under process. As such, passport request will be the next step.

I just realized that their passports are expiring in couple of years time and validity of the visa is determined by it.

Am I allowed to renew their passports now for a 10 year validity before sending the passports to the visa agent? By doing this, their passport number will be different than the ones stated in the application. I want to make sure if someone has gone through this process.

I dont want their application to be rejected because of this. Any help will be highly appreciated. Thank you!
 
Renew your parents passport , I did the same for my mother's super visa. She got 8+ years super visa. Submit both new and old passport to cic for visa stamping.

Thank you Maple for the quick reply. Much appreciated. What are your thoughts of providing photocopy of old passport to the visa offficer to avoid confusion, along with the new passport?

I had submitted both original old and renewed passports. Visa office stamped the visa on new passport and returned both both passports.

did you enter old passport details during application submission, but submitted old & new passport during PPR to get longer visa?

how much time will they give to submit passports after super visa approval?
