Hi All,

I wanted to ask if we're allowed to bring guests to the oath ceremony.
If yes, does anyone know if there is a limit to how many guests you can bring?

Additionally, how long does the ceremony usually last? If I can bring guests, I want to give them an estimate of how much of their time they would have to set aside.

Thanks!

give it about 1:30-2 hours. usually at Scarborough 1 guest is allowed on first come first served basis

I wonder why the Discover Canada document says "you are encouraged to bring family + friends" if they really mean "1 family member or 1 friend"? :)

Is that 1 guest per applicant if it's a family applicant, or 1 guest for the whole family?

I think it all depends on the location of the ceremony. Each location probably have small limited space thus some places only allow 1 per person. Others due to space can bring a whole family, especially if there is a overhead viewing area of ceremony.

When my wife had her ceremony the communication clearly stated 2 guests max. All the guests sat at the back of a ballroom while the soon to be citizens had their paperwork checked. It was first come, first served.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Does anyone have experience at the St Clair ceremony room?
