Hi,
I am an Indian Passport holder working in Sweden. I have a job offer from Canada and my prospective employer has applied a work permit under GSS category, LMIA Exempt (2 weeks processing). Application was submitted on 8th March, 2022 and biometrics completed on 10th March, 2022.
Now, I checked the current timelines for decisions and responses in other threads as well for the same. It seems to be 2-3 months on an average currently. Does decision timelines vary according to citizenship or resident country or both? Also, I couldn't find much details about Scandinavian countries. Frankly, I want to know if the decision timelines would have same average time for me or longer?

I am in the same situation as you. I am a Philippine passport holder living in Sweden. My employer in Canada was able to get me GTS sponsorship from BC Tech and my LMIA is already approved. The lawyer they hired submitted my application on March 10th, and I was able to complete my biometrics on March 15th. I am also trying to find the answer to your question because I only have until April to stay here in Sweden since I left my job here last January.

I am wondering if the processing time is faster for us since our application came from Sweden. I was told by the lawyer due to the Ukraine incident it might take 8 to 11 weeks, but I refuse to believe that hahaha, I am still hoping that the work permit approval will only take 2-3 weeks if the application came from a Scandinavian country.

Anyway, I hope we get an answer to our questions.

You can check processing. It is an average only.

Since you applied a few days ahead of me, hope you could give us an update regarding your application. I will do the same. :)

The trend right now is between 50 and 60 days to receive PPR. My application was submitted on 5th March 2022. I will give you an update once I have any :)

Best of luck everyone!

Hey @sky86 Do you have any update on your application so far?

According to https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...vices/application/check-processing-times.html they updated their processing time tool to accurately reflect how long it may take for them to process our application. And now it's showing this that work visa application from Sweden should take 2 weeks:
Work permit (from outside Canada)
Sweden
2 weeks

Most of the posted estimated processing times are often inaccurate. 1-3 months is the typical time period for GSS.

Hey there @sky86 did you already receive any update from IRCC? Considering you've already reached your 2 month mark, I assume they reached out to you already?

WOW @sky86 Congratulations! I am so happy for you!!!

Just to clarify, so you received your work permit application approval today? OR... you received your stamped passport from VFS/Canadian Embassy in Sweden today? If so, how long did it take for them to process the passport stamping?
