Hello!

Currently exploring options for immigrating to Canada. I am a Bulgarian citizen currently living in the USA on a student's visa (studied, worked here 4.5 yrs). My partner and I are in a same-sex relationship and have been dating for close to 2 years now. I have visited many times, but could not live there due to being on a student visa in the US.

It would be really hard for us to get married because my partner is somewhat bound to their family financially, and their family is abusive and homophobic, so getting married in secret would be difficult (we are both over 18 to clarify). Same-sex marriage is not legal in Bulgaria.

Wondering if we might have grounds to apply as conjugal partners. Thank you in advance!

No - you won't unfortunately. You can easily get married during one of your trips to Canada. You could also come to Canada as a tourist and then extend your visit in order to live together for a year and become common law.

You have neither immigration nor legal barriers to overcome. Family objections are insufficient to qualify for conjugal sponsorship.

As @scylla said, you definitely don't qualify.

To qualify for conjugal you would have to have both legal and immigration barriers to becoming common law or married. This is usually only true in a very small and specific percentage of cases. There's nothing legally stopping you from getting married or becoming common law (financial issues, family disapproval, having to quit jobs when it's not what you want to do - none of these are actual barriers that would be accepted here).
