Grilled at the border if not landing right away?

Hello everyone,

My spouse received her Confirmation of PR letter in the mail. She has until June 2nd to officially land. She is hoping to drive up to Vancouver from Seattle a few times to visit me before officially landing. Has anyone come to Canada without landing first? Have you been asked a bunch of questions at the border if so? She plans to bring her CoPR letter with her in the case of questions, but tell the officer truthfully that she would like to use a few more weeks to put her affairs in order first before landing in Canada.

It's not a big deal. It is quite common actually. Most people want to come up and scope out residences, schools, jobs, etc before doing the big move and landing. My wife came up after she got CoPR but didn't want to land yet. I can't recall the conversation with the border official because it was so trivial. All I remember was that she was quickly allowed to enter as a visitor.
