I am a green card holder, but my passport has expired (Russian). I need to go to Canada (Toronto) - 1 day trip by air. I also have my driver license and all necessary US documents, but an expired Russian PASSPORT! Will it cause any problems??? Should I take the passport with me just in case? I will have a two-way air ticket as my trip is for one day only... Please help!

You can't travel by air from the U.S. to Canada without a valid passport. It doesn't matter what other identifying documents you have.

Your only options are to 1) travel by ground, or 2) get your passport renewed.

I don't think i can renew my passport - will have to wait until i become US citizen.
Meanwhile, are there any other Immigration documents (Travel forms - something that allows people to travel without passport) ? May be I can get an eqivalent from US Immigration ?

You would need a US travel Document from the Passport Office, see: http://tinyurl.com/2h8ces
