Dear sir,
Thank you so much for reading my question. Smiley

I'm an international student who is graduating this June.
I'm going to my home country for 1 week for family event in May (I will finish my program this April)

My study permit valid till 2017/Feb, so i think i will be okay to go my hometown and back to Canada
and apply PGWP in Canada after i back.

Do you think there will be any problem of re entering Canada??
What if immigration officer in Vancouver airport ask if i finished my program?(I don't think they will..but..)

Thanks for all answers and help Cheesy

Hi, to answer to your question,

I extended my study permit online for 4months(don't remember exact duration i applied for because i was expecting to graduate in june but my permit was till february, i asked for extension several month ahead and got my extended study permit valid till end of that year, they usually gives you at least 3 more months for extension)

as i had extended study permit, i was able to re-enter canada in may, and applied pgwp online in june

hope this helps, i'm not sure if we can ask for pgwp in airport (maybe someone else can help)

Brother, you seems a right person who could answer my query...I have recently received an offer letter for january intake and program has three semesters... I will be graduating in the month of december 2019... My first semester would commerce in January and second semester in May... As the 2nd semester would be completed in the last week of august... Then can I travel to my home country for three weeks in the month of September....???

But the issue is my 3rd sem would start in the first week of September... And I will have to travel from the second week... So would it be any problem to re enter in Canada because Visa officer may ask questions that why I left Canada when the semester or classes were going on ?

Secondly, does college issue leaves to students in between the semester for three weeks...?

I will have valid study permit and valid classes . From sep 2019 I will get enrolled in my third semester as full time student. but due to family event I will need to visit them in india. Now i am in confusion about dropping classes and visiting them.

do we require any letter from college which have to present at airport ? I will have valid TRV and study permit at that time..

Please help...

I dont think there will be an issue with it, they just probably will only ask what school and program you are in, usually thats it.

But to be safe ask your professors if that would be okay( like you will catch up the class from class mates for 2weeks or so) and you can have a letter from school. But i think just explaining your family issue would be enought if they ever ask

Hope this helps

Thank you Ain for confirming...

So visa officer will not raise questions that why I traveled in between semester? As I have heard that they have the rights to deny the permission to student despite of carrying valid STUDY PERMIT and TRV..

Also, what type of Letter which college issues to student that do we need to carry when we re-entering Canada?

I don't know because i never had that experience, i can't gurantee anything. Sorry, but its going to be only for first 2 weeks right?...don't think its going to be a problem. usually the first week is orientation of class, and actual class starts at second week of the semester..so ....

missing one week of class due to family issue can't be a reason for refusing re-enter lol...especially if your professor will approve in advance too

i don't know what's your reason for travelling if you are really worried, try to come back asap..

I never carried such letter, i was saying if you are really worried you can ask your professor to write a letter

and yes i have travelled between semester but it was my reading break or summer vacation.

i meant class orientation, my school class ususally had orientation (explaning what they are going to teach for this semester or etc) for thier first week (every semester)
