Graduate student - spouse visa issues.

Hello,

My husband is going to Canada to pursue a Master's program. I shall be accompanying him as a Spouse. I want to know the following: -

1) Can I apply for Spouse Work Permit beforehand or should i first apply for a Visit visa and then convert it into a work permit once I'm in Canada.

2) Do I also need to provide English proficiency test?

u can do it either way just keep in mind u will pay application fees twice if u apply TRV first and then work permit and chances r about the same unless ur profile is not strong meaning if u do not have work experience then u better apply for TRV. This is just my guess about the chances and not a proven fact. So what I am trying to say is u have to make a call depending on ur profile ur work experience what to select a work permit or visitors visa
