Hello everyone,

We got our passports with Visa on July 8th. We are planning to visit canada on August 12th. We are planning to stay there for 2 days & return back to US.

At the port of entry, do we need to mention that we have not come to Canada for settlement now. We only came to get our PR card ?
Also, do we need to carry our kids vaccination records this time?

Please confirm.

Thank You!

"At the port of entry, do we need to mention that we have not come to Canada for settlement now. We only came to get our PR card and would return back for settlement reason after 4 months?

Also, do we need to carry our kids vaccination records this time?"

Hi,

According to some of the answers I read here, in case you will do your landing and say that your not coming for settlement, they will not provide you the form to process your PR..one forum member here said that to the officer and was informed to just apply for the PR card when she decides to settle already, however she cannot come back to Canada without it,that's why she was advised to call the office and clarify that indeed she plan to settle and just provide a Canada address and let the person on that address send here PR card in case she really needs to go back abroad, by the way they only send the PR card to Canada and it takes around 2-3 months to receive it. Vaccination records are needed when applying for schools so I guess you don't need it at this point.
