Got VISA but without photo.. Is it normal ??

Hi Guys..
I got my Passport today stamped with VISA.. The VISA has no photo of mine.. Is it OK or there has to a photo of mine on it...

Also, On VISA the study permit is of 28 months but my course is of 2 years (24 months) so in that case I should have for 5 years VISA (including 3 years work permit)... I have heard from my friend (Astonmartin) that Work Permit is available after I complete my 2 year course in Canada ????

There is no photo of the person on visa. And u have to apply for work permit when u complete your course , you do not get a work permit before that
