Hi Guys,

I have a quick query. I had received an open spouse work permit in March (applied from India), but due to some personal commitments have yet not been able to travel to Canada. I will be stuck here till July or may be little more. The permit is valid till May, 2017.

I hope this won't create any problem once I'll be travel ready for Canada? Will it affect on my entry/visa validity/approval or anything?

Hi,

Please let us know when did you apply for Spouse open work permit and the date of approval.

You can travel to Canada as long as you have a valid visa. Absolutely there is no problem landing in Canada at a later date.

Cheers.

I applied in Feb first week and got the approval letter on 4th March. My visa is valid till May 2017.

Approval letter could be issued with a expiration date.
In that case you have to come to Canada before that date (you can leave inmediately as far you have valid visa) to obtain the WP.

If you have physically your WP, then you're free to go whenever you want.

Hi,
I am on an Open Work permit in Canada, I applied for my wife's visitor visa last month and it got rejected.
Is it a good option to apply for an open work permit for her? my visa expires in 2018.
Can you please provide me more details regarding this? I'd really appreciate your help.
Thanks

Hi all,

My wife have got study permit & studying Canada right now, I have got visitor visa and visited Canada last feb'16. I want to do SOWP, if I get approval SOWP my visitor visa will be cancelled, is it correct? or I can have dual intend visitor visa and SOWP.

if my SOWP is rejected any impact to my visitor visa.

Thank you for your advise.

If you're working on a NOC B, A, 0 job you oñcan apply for SOWP, it's the best option.

I don't think is a good idea to provide your cellphone in a open forum

As I understand it a work permit is not a visa so you would still need a visa to enter Canada

Agreed, applicant still needing a Visa if he is not from a visa exempt country
