my passport expires in may 2013 while my school resumes in jan 2013

am i to renew my passport before filing for visa or renew it over there if am granted visa?

Congratulations..

For which course?

U should renew ur passport first, then apply for visa..

Abhi

Congratulations!

Indian passport can be renewed if expiring in less than a year. Your's is expiring in May 2013, then you can renew your passport now.
If you want to renew before leaving, remember to avail the tatkal scheme, else it may take too long and you'll be late for visa application.
If you'll apply for visa before renewing, you'll get visa till May 2013, as Visa cannot be more than passport expiry... (Though I am not 100% sure about it).

congrats...ur the first to get admission for winter 2013 except the ones who have differed admissions from previous term

Hey can you tell me how much time it will take to get admission in UOIT? U applied by your self or through consultant...

Congratulations, you can apply on this passport and then renew but if u can first Renew ur passport and then apply...Passport must have at least 6 months validity when u apply for visa...

Just renew your passport under tatkal scheme or else you wont get visa validity beyond the validity of the passport

Congratz,

As already suggested, you should renew your passport first and then apply for visa, in this case you will get visa and SP for the duration of your course. If you don't renew your passport first and apply for visa then in this case you will be issued visa till the validity of your passport. When your each canada and before the expiry of your passport and visa you will have to get your passport renewed and reapply for Visa and SP renewal. This option will be hectic as well as you will be paying for your visa and SP twice.

please how is the school? can one work and school to be able to pay the fees and how come the tuition is up to $47,000.00 for just a year?

I am afraid of getting stranded in another man's land.

You will most certainly not be able to work and pay off the uni fees. only because international student fees are around 30000 (undergrad Engineering) a year plus 5000 accomodation plus food plus etc... School is awesome, great faculty had tons of fun and prepared me well

normally u can only cover ur living expenses from all odd jobs...to cover fees u need to bring it with u or get it transferred later. i dont know if ur course qualifies for scholarship or not thats another way to pay fees

someone explained to me that the fees is not up to that. That it is the worst case scenario kind of thing
