Thanks for all the help received in the forum that helped us to get a student visa.

I have a couple of questions with regard to pre arrival.

1. In the Canada airport immigration, what are the required documents that we need to show (or they ask the students)
2. What is the best way to carry money, Cash, Travelers Cheque etc.?

Warm regards

The most important ones that they commonly ask for are LOA, LOI (Port of Entry), college fee receipts and GIC letter. But you should have a printed copy of other documents as well (PPR, BVL, eMedical, SOP, IELTS, previous educational documents).

Thanks for your input. For my university I have to pay per unit/course (not all in advance) in this case I have paid for 3 units/course for next 3 months which is around 2300 CAD, I have a proof of this payment. Since I do not have any bank account in Canada now, the only option is to carry the funds or once I open a bank account in Canada my parents can wire transfer.

In this scenario, how much should I carry with me to show at the airport immigration? Should I carry USD or CAD? Cash or Travelers Cheque or Demand Draft?

Thanks

Based on the knowledge over the internet, not more than 10K CAD ~ USD. Cash is fine. If you had a GIC then you already had an account and you deposit in the same even from within ur country.
anything valuable you are coming with you have to provide its detail on the port thru an online system

You should carry around 5-6k CAD (10k CAD being the limit) which will be more than enough for next 3 months. Your parents can send you the rest once you have a bank account in Canada.
