Got Supervisa 1 year without medical..

My father applied super visa and the application has been approved without received medical request and he got only 1 year visa. My question are Is that normal case ?and he can extend his stay in Canada rather than go back home country before visa permit expired?

Sounds like he was issued a regular visitor visa rather than a super visa.

I am wondering too but his visa category is PG-1 not V-1...
