Hi Experts

Need your advise /suggestion

Background : Am an Indian citizen but work in USA in IT and have a small family here (wife and a kid).

Earlier I was planning to pursue higher studies (i.e do masters) from Canada . I got accepted to UBC and thus applied for study visa which got approved .

My studies are set to start next year in Jan but the family situation has changed now . Owing to family reasons i don't think i can study anymore in near future and will have to drop study plan . I am still in USA and haven't traveled to Canada yet

Questions -- >
a) If i don't travel to Canada on study visa , will that cause any issue in future if i apply for work permit or visitor visa ,etc or any future visa application ?

b) Am i supposed to inform CIC if i drop my study visa or will they automatically know if i never travel on study visa to Canada and will that be considered negative ?

Please let me know your opinion as i really confused as to the direction i should choose at this stage of my life

Thanks in advance

Regards
rohan

1. No it won’t cause an issue.

2. No need to inform CIC. You must inform UBC ASAP.
