got rejected 2 years ago, advise on reapplying

I got denied visitor visa 2 years ago and want to apply again, now. The reasons were: travel history, purpose of visit and job prospects in your home country. I believe I can satisfy the immigration officer this time.
I have sister in just recently moved to Canada and is a PR, should I let her send me a letter of invitation or is that going to harm me?

If you're going as a visitor, you should have a letter from whoever you're visiting inviting you to Canada. However, if you aren't staying with your sister or visiting her, saying you're visiting her isn't truthful. You shouldn't do that - misrepresentation can get you banned from Canada.

My sister is a recent immigrant, less than 1 year in canada and NOT a canadian citizen. I plan on staying with her and her family for 2 weeks. So I should ask her for a letter of invitation stating that I'm staying at her place, but me covering expenses myself?

It doesn't matter if your sister is not a canadian citizen. As long as she has legal status, she can invite you to come to Canada for visiting her. The letter of invitation can state you would staying at her place and all your expenses (such as travelling, accomodation, food) would be paid by your sister.

yeah you should have invitation letter from your sister. my sister is also a PR and she wrote an invitation letter for me explaining the purpose of my trip, the length, where i will be staying, etc. she also added her tax report, her employment letter, her PR card, etc. to make a stronger case for me. Lo and behold i got my TRV ;D
