Hi everyone,

I have received a refusal a few days back. I am an Indian residing in the UAE since my school days and currently work here.
I applied for Masters. Non-SDS - Abudhabi.
IELTS has been waived by University since my previous university's medium of language was in English.
Documents provided: Education loan letter(Covers total tuition and living expense). I didn't submit any bank statements though. Provided salary certificate and sponsorship letter from dad.
Also, provided my father's business Tax return.

I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your immigration status.

Any suggestion on how to improve these? What do they mean by based on immigration status? Can someone advise?

I am going to reapply for Jan as my next intake after Jan is only by Sept and hence I don't have time to apply gcms. Thanks in advance.

Sorry for your refusal.

Not wise to reapply for Jan since you won't be able to address VOs concerns in such less time and end up with a refusal again. The only viable option is to defer and get GCMS notes. I can understand this will alter a lot of things for you but you'll only hurt your profile more by reapplying so soon without understanding the reasons for refusal.

You are a temp resident in UAE and thus the VO has concerns about whether you'll be able to or intend to go back after completing your studies. They mostly want to see strong ties to your home country, which in your case is very weak.

Hello, sorry to hear about your refusal mate.

Kindly share your academic profile, what did you get for your Bachelors and what Master's program were you pursuing at which University?

What kind of loan have you taken out? Where has the amount been credited into? Your or your parent's account(s)? Did you provide an affidavit of support from your parent(s) for your financial needs? It was unwise to not submit the bank statement, perhaps focus on these aspects of your application to strengthen it for the second time round. Salary certificate from your employer or father's company? Kindly elaborate on the sponsorship letter part. Do you have a work permit approved under family sponsorship as per MOHRE? If you do, take a print out from Tah'seel/Taw'jeeh using your passport copy and visa page.

I completed BS hons. IB and Economics: 3.68GPA
Applied to MBA, University of New Brunswick.

I have taken an education loan from India. I dint disburse it yet, the bank has given me the loan sanctioned letter. It's under my and my parent's name. I have attached an affidavit of my father on his company letterhead.

Elaborate on the sponsorship part? what does that mean? my father is running his business for 15 years and I am on his company visa.

Education is adequate and reasonable for your choice of program.

This is my personal analysis, I am no lawyer so do not take this personally or professionally without doing your own due diligence. If you are legally on a work residence visa and under your company's sponsorship. You should show a bank account with pay stubs (WPS as per MOHRE) credited to your account or can take statement from whichever exchange house that your father's business has a salary disbursement account with. When the VO sees that you are receiving salary and you have sufficient financial capacity, one would be convinced. To further strengthen the financial proof, you could have attached your family/parent(s)'s statement(s) or investment(s) along with a signed affidavit from the same. When you applied for the study permit on your company's sponsorship, I am under the assumption that you have revealed to the VO that the company is managed and owner by your parent which could possibly increase the scrutiny on your applications. It happens, I do not understand why as I've known alot of legitimate people who've grown to succeed their parents in their family businesses.

As ChaChaVidhayakHain has mentioned, apply for GCMS. Rethink your future plan and strategize accordingly for your next application. Wishing you strength and success!
