I am a Canadian citizen and I have sponsored my husband. I just decided to inform cic that I m pragnant and my due date is the end of July...still I did not tell them as I thought when the child is born then u let them know ....but then I decided to tell them but ...yesterday I got a mail from abudhabi immigration that they have processed our application and now they want us to submit required forms and passport for visa. They also said the deadline is July 1. My questions are :
I will inform them about my pragnancy through email to abudhabi office .....or Mississauga address???

Also there is one more problem that I just encountered that I have pragnnacy complication and I might not be able to travel ....in that case how should I tell them??? Cause they want me to cancel my dubai visa and come canada then they will issue visa to my husband .....I had a plan to go canada and baby born in canada but now with that complication I might have to stay here.....in that case how should I tell them and what will be their response. Can they extend the time for us???

They said in the first letter to inform
When should I contact CIC?
You must notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) of any changes to your application. Examples of changes include:
 Changes in your personal circumstances, such as birth or adoption of a child, death of a family member, a marriage or a divorce;
 Change of contact information (e-mail, mailing address, telephone number);
 Appointment or change of immigration representative or designated individual;
 Decision to withdraw your application.

My question is should I mail a letter to canada office ...or should I just email the abudhabi office about my pragnancy?

Please reply

CIC does not care if you are pregnant. That is irrelevant to them.

They only care when the baby is born. Since you are Canadian citizen, will your child also be a Canadian citizen upon birth?
If yes, then neither you nor the baby need PR visas. So your husband would still be expected to land according to the expiry date on his COPR.

If no, then your baby would need to be added to the PR application as a dependent. In this case the entire application would go back into processing and your husband would only get PR visa at the same time the baby does.

I think you should inform them about the pregnancy through the Dubai office , submit the passport as well , maybe you should go to their office to talk to them about the situation , and depending on how it goes you can decide to go to Canada faster to wait for your husband , that way there won't be any extensions , your husband may get his visa by the end of July , depending on how fast you send the passport , your baby will need to be added to sponsorship application when he's born in Dubai , I hope right , there are more experienced guys here who will help ,

How did you get your Canadian citizenship?

Thank you so much ....i am a naturalised Canadian citizen that's why my baby will get the citizenship. If the baby is born outside canada then I just have to apply for his citizenship certificate. Problem is that they will only issue my husband his visa when they see I cancel my dubai visa and the deadline is first July. Because of my pragnnacy I could not be able to cancel it until the baby is born and get his temporary passport to travel to canada. I want them to extend the deadline but I don't know whether they do it or not. As the condition they applied is that first in the required documents they want my visa to be canceled and then. They issue my husband the visa. I am just waiting if my doctor would permit me to travel I will go and cancel it. But if not then there is problem. And I don't know how would they react on this situation .

Typically your husband's COPR will have an expiry date of 1 year from when he did medical exam. This is the date he would need to actually land in Canada by.

The visa office will most likely only care about your husband. Since you and your baby are already Canadian, they will probably not extend your husbands PR visa for any of your pregnancy-related reason or your own local visa issues.

I got the Perminant resident card and then I lived in canada and got my citizenship. So I am naturalized Canadian citizen.

I don't understand why they need you to cancel your visa in Dubai , can you explain ? I think you should submit his passport and check with your doctor if you can travel , so you go to Canada to wait for your husband to join you soon, that is if there will be too many issues . And like rob said your husband will have some time depending on when his Medicals expires, do the calculations and see if it will be ok to wait .

I don't really get how can my husband hAs one year.....cause in the recent email I got from the abudhabi office they said your visa will be valid until first July 2014 .....they said you must submit all the required documents within 60 days. In the required documents they want a copy of my passport with my gulf residence visa cancelled. According my medical condition I can't fulfil their requirement right now. Until my baby is born and get his temporary passport. My due date is end of July. ???

The only concern with CIC is that if the baby is born before your husband land, your Canadian baby still need to be added to husband's COPR landing. Your husband could be denied PR status on landing due to misrepresentation by not listing all children, Canadian or otherwise, before landing.

If your husband land before your baby is born, then nothing changes.

Your husband most likely did his medicals on July 1, 2013? This would give 1 year expiry on July 1 , 2014 for validity of visa.

I have no idea why they are enforcing that you cancel your visa also. I've never heard of this situation before. However if they are strict about this, then you have no choice but to inform them that due to pregnancy complications travelling is impossible for you and you can't yet cancel your visa. You should include a doctors note to back this up.

Hopefully they can simply delay submitting your husbands PR visa/COPR. If his medicals expire, then he may need to do brand new medical test again.

Since the baby is already Canadian, i don't think he needs to be on COPR as he's not a dependent. Not 100% sure though. He would just go on the "other family members" form.
