Hi everybody,
Today i got PPR, soon i'll get the COPR and i'll have to start planing how to land.
So what i'm thinking about is the flagpole process, i wanna go to Rainbow Bridge, Niagara falls, and cross it.
My questions are:

1. Is it accessible by walking? I'm going by myself because my wife will be busy and i'll have to walk at some point.
2. Is it risky? Is there even 0.01% of risk while doing this?
3. Since i don't have a visa to enter the states i'll probably be denied from entry, If you've landed through the Niagara falls, can you explain in details what happens starting from the moment i get to the bridge until the moment i get back outside to the street? It is very important to me to know the details because i'm traveling from the far north of Ontario to the far south of it, everything in the traveling plan has to be exact.
4. This is a completely unrelated question, lets assume i landed and i have the PR card by now, will i be able to go visit my family back home for a month? Is that considered a violation of Condition 51?

Thank you!

1-3 - try calling the border office at rainbow bridge, they will be able to answer these questions. i'm not sure how it works when you don't have a visa to enter the us, however when someone flagpoles, they technically are not entering the us. they go to the border and tell the agent they want to flagpole, are given a form and are turned around. again, not sure how this works when you don't have a visa to enter the us. maybe others can help with their experience or the border office will be able to tell you.

4. it will probably take more than a month to get your pr card. it is not issued at landing. traveling for short trips will not violate condition 51. landing and going back home for months or years without your sponsor will. what condition 51 says is that you must cohabitate with your sponsor for 2 years after landing. it doesn't say you can't take separate short trips. if you travel with your spouse, then there is nothing to worry about.

5. all you need to land is your passport and your COPR. if you are declaring goods that are not already in canada, then you will need to fill out the b4 (recently renumbered) form and submit that to the border after landing is finalized.

The fact that i don't have a visa for the states should affect my entry to the states though not my entry to Canada right? like the worst case scenario should be that they give me denial on entry to the states and tell me to go back to Canada, then in Canada i'll land as a PR.
I tried to call them but no answer.

By flag poling you are not entering the USA, they will likely take your passport and hand it over to CBSA on the Canadian side. System wise they log it as "administrative refusal" which won't affect any future attempt at obtaining a visa for the USA.

Of course it could get complicated if Canada doesn't let you in but that is unlikely to happen...!

Yeah as long as i have the passport and the COPR there should be no reason not to let me in right?
currently i'm on visitor status (visa exempt) until April 2017
And i don't really care about the states, Other than having no relatives there and not caring about that country i'll spend the next few years at university so i won't have time and money to go there. What i'm worried about is having no trouble entering Canada again.

you won't have trouble entering. you have been approved for PR. you are there to land, you are not doing anything illegal. you have the right to seek entry into canada. people do this every day with no issue.
