Hello,

I got my CoPR and Visa stamping in April 2014. The Visa Stamping is done on my Old passport which expires in August, 2015.

However, i got a new passport in November 2014. Should i notify the Delhi Visa office regarding this ? Will it be ok if i carry these 2 passports at the time of landing ?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

Yep, you are good. Any visa stamped on an expired passport can be used if the visa is still valid.

Thanks for your reply.

I was wondering if i need to return the Visa and CoPR since they have details of my Old passport. I came across this post in one of the threads. This snippet is from the mail received for a different query by the User from CIC.

"If you or a family member have modified personal information after the issuance of a visa, including if you have obtained a new passport, you must request that a new visa and Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) be issued. This includes if you have married or have a newborn child who was not included on your application at visa issuance."

I am confused now.

Well, that response was to a different query. In this case, you are better off shooting an email to CIC and asking them directly, whether you need to request a new stamp and CoPR.

I'd think that it's ok to use your new passport and present them your expired passport with your Visa stamping on it since the Visa is still valid!
