Got my visitor visa converted to work visa.

who so ever says things hard from visitor to work is not true. Everything depends on your case and everything has a solution. All we need is a start, that could be changing are jobs or situations.

My experience on border was great. People on border try to make sure that you are not doing anything illegal and you are able to explain your situation and job perfectly.

They will grant you visa.

You should provide more information so that people don't get confused.

It is in fact not possible to "convert" a visitor visa into a work permit. To get a work permit, you need to have an employer get a positive LMIA, and then you need to apply for a work permit.

I presume in your case you got a positive LMIA and then you flag poled to get the work permit instead of applying online. That's not a conversion. That's an entirely different application. Yes, flag poling is possible (though not always recommended).

For anyone else reading this - No, it is NOT possible to come to Canada as a visitor and then simply get a Work Permit just because you're in the country.

You have left out so many details in your post, it is actually a disservice to those not knowing A LOT more go into getting a working permit "Oh, let me go to Canada on a visitor visa, and then I will just make a short trip to the border and convert that into a working permit, it does not quite work like that.
And btw, the border agents JOB is to make sure you are not doing anything illegal, you are just a foreign national with a work permit, they do not just hand them out on a whim

I am a work permit holder working as a software developer which is fall under NOC category - A. My wife is here with me on visitor visa. I want to apply her SOWP (Spouse Open Work permit). But i am confused which documents do i need and which form i will fill from CIC? I want to apply online so i need only specific documents. Can any one please suggest me?
