Dear,

Firstly, Many many Good Wishes on your success !!!

No, actually there won't be any 'interview' upon landing. U'll be asked some basic questions by the CBSA/IO, all regarding your 'landing', 'PR Card', 'PofA' & 'place/duration of stay' etc. only. All simple & generic. U may need the following:

1. Passport with Visa. -off course.
2. COPR
3. PofA. -for cases 'without' AEO & family class. (Cash, B/Draft, TCs, latest Bank Statement, Wire Tfr Record)
4. Passport size photos. -qty 2-3 each, for PR Card. (it may not be needed, but good to carry)
5. PR Card Application (IMM 5444E). -this u can do it there, Or carry it before hand (filled) for ease.
6. Goods to follow List (Form B4E). -this u can do it there, Or carry it before hand (filled) for ease.
7. SIN Card Application (Form NAS 2120). -NOT NEEDED at the a/port. But needed later.
8. Kids Immunization Record. -NOT NEEDED at the a/port. But needed later for School Admission.
9. If u r driving, remember to take ur veh docs. If u r keeping the veh at Canada, 'export' it from US first (carry the docs) and perform 'import' documentations, as well in Canada.

Hope that helps.

- had a question on the funds. I will carry a proof of funds (in any form) which i want to deposit in a bank in Canada. But if I want to bring in more amount later, do I need to declare it somewhere. I heard that if we are again entering (once the PR card is issued) and want to bring in additional money, we have to pay tax for it? Could you help?

Dear Qorax,

I read somewhere that IMM 5455 Supplementary Identification Form is also required, Is this required beforehand at POE or this is required to apply through post, kindly apply soon as my flight is on 7th Feb.

hi there,

i soon will receive my PR, i'm in Montreal, and will do some serious flagpoling. :)

Do i also need the Proof of Funds Docs and goods to follow list?

I'm here on a Workpermit for the last 2 years...so,..there's nothing to "follow" and the work permit allows me to have funds. :)

thx,

Hi Guys,

If someone already lives in Canada, receives his/her PR visa (FSW) and wants to flag-pole and land through a US border (e.g. exit Canada from Niagara falls and return to Canada again), is it necessary to have the minimum required funds in hand at landing time, while this money is already in a Canadian bank? Or can he/she just show the bank statement to the officer at the border?

hi all

i know i have to bring these documents mentioned below:-

1. Passport with Visa.
2. COPR
3. PofA. -for cases 'without' AEO & family class. (Cash, B/Draft, TCs, latest Bank Statement, Wire Tfr Record)
4. Passport size photos. -qty 2-3 each, for PR Card. (it may not be needed, but good to carry)

7. SIN Card Application (Form NAS 2120). -NOT NEEDED at the a/port. But needed later.

my query is:-

1) do i have to carry my original and copy of experience and educational docs? do they check when we land?
2) if i open bank account in scotiabank from india and transfer money, can i show bank statement as a proof of funds?
3) what questions, do they generally ask when we land to canada?

Hi,

i can speak only speak for myself:

I needed: Passport - COPR - thats it. Goods to follow was completed at the Border (Flag poled)
PoF wasn't asked for. 2 possible reasons: 1. I was there already for 2 years on a Work Permit, so...i had a job..and money.
2. BECAUSE I was there already. If you would land (literally at the Airport) then it
(might) means you just arrived in this country..so...do the math :)

The PR card Docs didn't need to be completed since it was requested in my case already with my Passport Request+2 pics--extra paper with Birthday date, Hair color and Eye color and handwritten signature..so..the COPR came back with my pics stuck on it. I just went to the border..20min...done and gone. The Pr Card arrives automatically. I took ALL my Immigration Documents with me, which was 1 Folder, everything, you never know what they might ask for, and it helped me once a lot to solve an bureaucratic issue !!
If you can do this, you can open an account with Scotia bank, and transfer money, BUT a simple bank statement does not help. you need to go then first to your bank and ask a the teller for a PROOF OF FUNDS Statement...a single piece of paper, signed and stamped by the accountant there. With RBC it cost me 5$ to do that. Which i didn't need at the end. But better safe than sorry for coming back just because of that. What they ask varies a lot, cannot answer that one. If you wear a suit with tie...the questions will be different than if you would show up in sweatpants..sneakers...goldchains around the neck like MR. T..(i pity the fool who would do that)...baseball cap.. you know what i mean. lool

hope it helped..
