Hi, Guys.

Good day!

I'd like to seek your expert advise on my situation. My wife works in Saskatchewan as a Food Service supervisor. I applied for an Open Work permit, along with my daughter's on Nov. 6, 2015 on the website and paid the necessary fees. On December 5, I got a message that my application was refused. When I read the PDF file, it said that I was unable to satisfy/convince CIC that I will be leaving Canada by the end of the authorized period of stay. It also broke down the factors that kind of contributed to the decision such as the following

* Travel History
* employment prospects in the country of residence
* current employment situation
* personal assets and financial status

The reasons above were the only things that got my application refused. I did submit a letter of explanation indicating that I am committing myself into returning when my wife's work permit expires. I also submitted my wife's T4 assessment, bank certificate of good standing and my own bank account amounting to 2,000 CAD. My Certificate of Employment indicated that I am a regular employee of the company I am working for. I am totally clueless regarding the Travel History and employment prospects.

Please help me... Thanks!

Essentially CIC has concerns you don't have strong enough ties to your home country and have plans on remaining in Canada long term.

$2K is extremely little additional money to show. So that's one issue you face.

Travel history means that you likely haven't traveled or have traveled very little outside of your home country (which increases CIC's concerns you have plans on remaining in Canada long term).

Employment prospects means your country of residence generally has poor employment prospects which means further increases CIC's concerns you're trying to make a permanent move to Canada.

Unless your situation changes substantially, there's unfortunately no point reapplying.
