Hi Guys,

I am picking up my passports from the London VO this thursday, however, I would like to go to America after I land in Canada later next month. Should I apply for the america visa in London before I move to canada or is it better to wait till I get to canada and have my PR card to get the america visa?

Bythe way, with the issuance of the PR card, would I need to get an american visa to visit america?

Has anyone been in this situation? Please advice me.

Canada PR will not get you free access to the US. You are still required to get a visa from a US embassy from your country of origin or residence.

Depending on your country of origin, you need to expect something between 3-5 weeks to get a US visa.

I recommend that you get your PR cards first so you secure them and avoid any hassle in handling your passports.

Good luck.
