Processing time for AOR is much faster now. It's bellow 40 days, and many guys received it for 35 days. According to that, your timeline is good. You can apply online just before your current WP expire, e.g. on March 7, and be on implied status until you receive decision. The other option is to mail application a week or two before your WP expires. It's important that they receive it before your application expires. This way you will buy more time and be sure you will have AOR before they start processing your application. The other option is what I just did and I hope it will work. I'm expecting my AOR around December 24.

Thanks for the quick response zoran. Much appreciated.

Good luck with your application!

Wait until CIC makes a decision on your current application. If they reject it, apply again - if they approve, you were lucky :)

Thanks Toby. My concern is my current closed work permit is valid till Dec 24th. So if cic rejects after dec 24th , do i eligible to reapply still?

No, then you're not eligible, as you're not holding a valid work permit. If you're uncertain about your application, withdraw it
and apply again.
But you should hear back from CIC about your current application next week. I applied on Dec 1st, and expect approval
mid next week. So if I were you, I'd wait until next mid/end next week and see what's the outcome of your current application.

Hi Toby , now the status shows as that my application has been approved. As you said, I am lucky enough. 8) But I did not receive the soft copy in my email. Can we ask the CIC to send the same in email ?

Congrats!! Good for you man. I got mine approved on Monday and haven't received an email either. People were saying that CIC
mails the hard copy to your mailing address and that's it. No emails.

There is a discussion thread for November 2013 applicants, so you can follow progress and there is also a spreadsheet that all members maintain https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0ApN4REMXQ9m9dEctbkg1TkN1MjF3QmJKSS14cEtZZmc#gid=0
so you can see that currently they finished November 18th. There was small delay during the holidays, but I think it will continue with the same pace now.
If you send paper application, then you don't have anything to worry. If your application was not returned and you explained in your cover letter why you didn't send you AOR number, then you will receive it in time and wait till the end of February to get your BOWP.

Thanks Zoran for ur concern..

Am already following that spreadsheet Nov 2013..I have applied paper application and through Fragomen for BOWP..

Folks,

Would there be a mail from CIC once BOWP is approved or i should log in and keep checking every day?

I hear that the BOWP will be approved anywhere between 5 to 15 days, so wondering.

Thanks!

BOWP got rejected for applying without AOR:
You have not provided evidence that you have received a positive eligibility decision on your PR
application.
You do not have a work permit that was due to expire within 4 months of the date you submitted
your application.

With the updated OB485-A you will be rejected if you don't meet the requirements. Trying to apply without
being eligible is a waste of money and time.

When was your AOR ultimately issued? It could be that the BOWP was too quick for the AOR. But I can't help but think the 'main' reason your application failed was not having a work permit due to expire within four months.

Did you already receive AOR? According to you App.filled date, I would say that you didn't have AOR in the moment they processed your application. You should have send paper application instead to have more time.
