Also, did you mail it to the address at Vegreville for "extensions" or the one for "new permits"? Does it matter?

It's really a new permit isn't it, but then I intend to keep working the job I'm currently in, so I'm confused.

Paper application doesnot need photographs.
BOWP is open work permit and you can work under your current employer or if you want you can change your employer as its an open work permit.

I would mail it to the one saying new permits. As the BOWP is an initial open work permit, I guess.

No same employer

Ya, why? ::)

Tried to find an answer in the OB but couldn't find anything.

I was on PGWP and i called cic to ask whether to apply as new employer or same. They said same employer as you already on PGWP that is open wp.
Please call customerservice in morning around 9am and its not busy that time.

What if I'm on a closed WP? Then it's a new employer. So I think it doesn't really matter, as long as you mention
OB485 and your file number in an explanation letter.

Yeah, I might call them. In my case where it's an open work permit (IEC) to another open work permit (BOWP), it's the same dilemma as on the application form where you must choose between "new" and "same" employer. Although I intend to stay in my current job, open work permits are not really 'for' an employer per se.

You should include an explanation letter highlighting that you are applying for a BOWP, even if you plan to continue working for the same employer and check that box on the form.

Current processing time is 55-65 days. So won't be long before you get it :)

I applied my BOWP on 12th Sep withour AOR, I am July PR applicant under CEC, and haven't yet received the AOR. My current wp is set to expire on 4th OCt. So I had to apply without AOR.

It sounds like you could have put off the BOWP application another couple of weeks, but the bell's been rung now. Good luck!

Hi LPS,
I am expecting my AOR in next 10 days, hopefully they won't reject my BOWP within next 10 days. Do you see any other issue in applying early?
