"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing."

Woo hoo! Obviously we're thrilled, but I have a couple questions:

1. I (somehow) forgot to put my Option C form in with the app. I included a pay statement and my T4 and T5 forms and obviously that was enough but should I send the Option C along anyway now that we have a file number? Or would that be pointless as I already got approval?

2. So now our case is being sent to the Ottawa processing pilot but there is no processing time listed on the CIC site for Ottawa! Does anyone know where I can find one? I only live 20 mins from Laurier Ave, how bad an idea do you think it would be to head down there and start knocking at their door? (just kidding!!!)

3. If we pass the year mark of when hubby's medical was done before he's approved, does he have to get a new one done? Could he get it done here in Ottawa or would he have to go back to the US?

Thanks for any help ;D

1.Don't worry about the Option C now that you have been approved as sponsor! Your good to go now :)

2. I have no idea about the time frame and as this is a new thing, there won't be one posted until 12 months of processing there has gone by, minimum... I believe there is a thread going for others that are also processing there.

3. If the medicals expire, and the IO has reached a decision to approve, they may request an extension on the medicals if its within 15 months of the date the medical was done. This however, is not mandatory and they may ask your husband to redo the medical. If he has to redo them, I believe it is ok he do them in Canada at a DMP from the list (but if I am wrong, someone please correct me)

Congrats on Sponsor Approval!! Good luck!

:( really? I guess we'll just cross our fingers and hope it doesn't take super long... and yeah, I found the thread so I'll give it a read and see if there's anything helpful in it. Thanks!!

I hope I didn't confuse you by what I said... to clarify, I meant that there will not be a time posted for Ottawa until they have completed 12 working months. The times posted for other offices are based on applications processed in the last 12 months or something like that. So, in order for Ottawa to post a time frame, they would have to be operating for at least 12 months, and Im not sure that they will if this is still a pilot project. I did not mean that your application alone will take 12 months. Sorry if I created confusion. Best just to follow the Ottawa thread and get comfy with all those there as you are all in the same boat :). I wish you a speedy process!!

Congratulations and wish you the best!

As Jamgirl says, there won't be processing time available on CIC website for sometime. But don't worry. It seems they are moving pretty swiftly. I am sure there is/will be a thread for Ottawa VO. Just take a look at May SS.

It's moving. From this, you may notice something as early as 2 months of your sponsorship approval. Just enjoy your first stage approval for now :)

Ohhhh. Okay! It would be SO great if they posted something like they do for first stage where they give you an idea of where they are with the apps. Like "Working on apps where sponsorship was approved on (date)". Would probably save us all a lot of worry if we at least had a general idea of where we're at.
