Got married and my PGWP is expiring in a month. Can I keep working while I wait for my new work permit?

Hi guys,

My husband and I were together for 4 years and decided to get married recently to make the process of coming to Canada easier for me - he is born and raised here in Toronto. Now that we have gotten married we are starting my application for sponsorship. I have been working for two years under a PGWP and it is about to expire. I will also be submitting an application for an Open Work Permit with my Sponsorship application. Will I be able to keep working while I wait for my new work permit?

Yes, as long as the complete sponsorship application + OWP reach IRCC before your PGWP expires.

So as long as I submit everything before April, I should be good to keep working? Is there any place where I can find the information directly from the government website? I cant seem to locate it!

Hi, I'm kinda in a similar situation. When was your permit expiring and when did you get married? If you dont mind me asking
