I tried calling for over 2 hours, no one answered, got a stupid menu! Couldn't get in touch with a person.

Tried again today, the lady who answered said that Daisy (in charge of immigration exams) is only there Wednesday and Friday evenings. So will try again Wednesday...... *sigh*

You do not have to wait on Daisy ...call back and ask for a nurse..It's hard even speaking to one but you have to be forceful and they will be able to tell you why. It's hard getting in touch with Daisy.

+1 for aminata2010

Benni be forceful this is not on. You have been on my mind all day ..

Thank you both so much!! I will call again -- I'm damn good at 'forceful'!! :D

Finally was able to have contact with the doc's office. Yes, I did have to wait on Daisy -- grrrrrr!!

"It is confirmed that you need additional test. We need to check your creatinine. You may return to the clinic and get your blood drawn for this. There will be an additional charge ($30 or $35 )."

Now, I just need to figure out how to do this with the least cost. I'm going to try to have it done here. Will call CIC and see what they say.

i can't see why you can't. if all panel physicians have access to the system they should be able to match it to your file. Take a copy of your medical receipt with you Benni. Good luck :)

By 'here', I meant at a doctor in Corner Brook which is 30 minutes from here. I'm trying to call CIC now to see if it can be done here and have the results forwarded to the Dallas doc.

The only panel physician is in St. John's -- a six hour trip. I read this:

"If the nearest Panel Physician offering services in your preferred official language is located more than 250 kilometres or 4 hours from where you live, please contact the CIC".

;D
i knew what you meant Benni lol

Oops, sorry :)))))

my wife was also asked to do an additional creatinine test. if the result shows a bit higher level in the urine, they ask for a blood test. it is completely normal. usually if you ever have any kidney related issues, the numbers can be a bit high. i suggest you drink good amount of coconut water before you go for the additional test.

and by the way, it's not requested by CIC yet. when the lab finds the result, they ask for the blood test because they know CIC will eventually ask for it.

I've never had any kidney issue, I drink lots of water all day. As a matter of fact I'm teased about it all the time.

I wonder why they didn't run that test when they took my blood for other tests?

CIC is who sent me the letter.

I tried calling them several times but after hold times of 20 minutes plus, I gave up. I emailed them so hope to get an answer soon.

if you had eaten a lot of red meat around the time you took the test, that can also raise the level. that's what happened with my wife. we had just come back from a vacation where we ate a lot of meat the whole time. it's not a big deal.

but i suppose your real issue is to find a medical lab close by rather than worrying about the test itself. all the best.

Thanks for the info -- I do love red meat.

Thank you! :)

If you work out a lot to it raises the level of creatinine so no red meat for you, no exercise and drink that water lol :P

Work out? What's that? ;)
