Got laid off, can I still use my close work permit to travel?

Hi all,
I got a question about my work permit, it’s a young professional visa (close work permit). Since I got laid off this March, I’m planning to go back to my homecountry for family issues.

I know I can stay in canada as long as my work permit not expired, but can I still use this permit to re-enter Canada?
