Got Invitation -Urgent help needed with Work Experience and staus complications!

My Canadian work permit expired on may 2015 but I requested for an extension of work permit, I mailed the application just a day before the expiry date of my work permit. The application for work permit extension was refused within 3 months. Then I applied for visitor status stating that I am planning to enroll into another post grad course and need sometime to figure my best option. Since I did not hear back from CIC in the next 2 months I came back to my home country India.
Three months later CIC approved my request for visitor status and gave me visitor's visa for 6 months.

Please advise what should I choose for the 2 questions below:


Have you been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?


Have you been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?:

But I am confused if I should yes to both questions or just the second one?

If you have been refused any kind of visa, then answer Yes to both. If you have been refused only work permit, just answer Yes to the second question. It is advisable to provide letter of explanation and explain reason for refusal.
