Dear all,

We are Bangladeshi. My wife is a permanent residence and living in Toronto, I am studying in Finland.
When we applied for spousal PR, I was just landed in Finland so I did not give any police clearance from here (I gave from Bangladesh and Malaysia, where I lived for more than 6 months before).

I got a call from the embassy on 30th April, they said they are little bit confused about out relationship, as its a complicated case and asked me questions. I answers them properly. Today I got an email to send police clearance from Finland. I will send it soon.

Just wondering, there are so many experienced people here, what do you think? is it a positive vive? or still there are hurdles to overcome? Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks and regards
Saikat

When did you apply? The old criminal records could also be expired, some VO(not sure about all) ask for new ones and also since you have now been in Finland (for I assume more then 6 months) they want to make sure your clear there too.

I would guess that everything is going well, it is just protocol to ask for updated checks.

I would say then that it is just that you have been living in a different country that they want to know you have not had any criminal activity. Since they are only asking for one from Finland, I would not to be worried about it.

The current processing time for the London VO is 9 months (I think) your at 7 so I assume they are finishing up your file.

Hi Saikat,

Its a positive news, London VO ask for police certificate once your application is approved after interview.

Now they will start your background check and will request for Passport once finish.

Hello,

You can also take a look at the London thread, ask others their advice or experiences.
