I sent my application on March 12th, and got a reply (accepted) on March 19th. I sent it to Washington DC, through priority mail so it got to the Embassy on the 14th, the acceptance letter was dated March 16th. I am so impressed with the prompt response by them. I wonder if it is because I am American? Either way i am so happy that I am going to study in Canada and really impressed with CIC for their quick response!!

I think it has more to do with the fact that you have taken the time and patience to read all the requirements and submit all your documents in an organized way. Its really that simple. Congrats

In all probability newtone is right.
This early in the process it comes down to attention to detail.

Yes man you must be genius.....citizens from the rest of the world do not pay attention to detail. To back up my statement, my post was deleted without giving me a reason. Let me tell you my friends things are not black and white in this world. Good luck

yes i did take about three months making sure I had everything ready and that every single thing they asked for was exact and included. I am just surprised it took them less than two days to complete when the website said 4 weeks! Thank you everyone :)

Re: student visa rejected, will apply again,,,good idea?

Well as they say there is one law for the rich and one law for the poor. You only got you visa so quick because your american and the rest of the world has to wait! Preference is given to rich countries like the usa whilst applicants of states like pakistan are ignored. But hey i am not bitter i am a uk citizen i can travel to more countries visa free on my uk passport than you can on you american.

no mac i think you are a bit bitter. I don't think it is because the US is a "rich" country as you put it. I think a lot more goes into finding out exactly why a Pakistani wants to go to Canada, and what level of risk they are to Canada. Americans and Canadians are the same. The only thing that sets us apart is the difference in opinion we had about the British Empire 200 years ago. Canada has come a long way since disassociating itself with the Brits. I guarantee that if the pioneers and settlers of Canada back in the late 1700's could have seen what America is today without the headache of the British in our history and laws, they would have broken away from the joke of what is now the monarchy back when we did. You seem to have an inferiority complex against the US, and your comment about going to "more countries visa free" than I can, what does that have to do with anything? Are you bitter that your empire crumbled? I'd like you to please list those countries that you can go to "visa free" that I cannot, I'd be interested to see if they are even countries you'd like to visit.

Also Mac, you give a pretty narrow-minded explanation as to why I got approved so quickly. I think it has to do with a number of factors. One, yes I am American, I will fit in in Canada much easier than someone from Pakistan. I know the majority language perfectly, unlike someone from Pakistan. Another is that a Pakistani may have to translate the documents from their language to English, and that can make the application pretty rough to read for the Visa Officer. Pakistanis may also misunderstand the documents required and that will delay the process. I took three months to make sure everything in that application was perfect. I also sent it to the Embassy instead of a consulate because naturally they will have more workers at an Embassy compared to a consulate. Americans are not a security risk to Canada, Pakistanis may be.

Get over yourself. Your empire crumbled and Britain is about as relevant in the world today as the Romans and Greeks, your glory days are over and have been for a few generations.

Britain isn't what it once was. You had the world and you lost it.

I was over exaggerating for the purpose that this chump brought up a point that is totally irrelevant. He seems to have an inferiority complex towards the United States. There are far more reasons to why the application was approved quickly than that I'm from a "rich" country. I've read a lot of this guys posts over a long period of time and he is just a joke, just trying to get him riled up Baloo ;)

But seriously, I have nothing against Britain. But I wish narrow minded idiots like Mac would just keep their traps shut because he rarely, if ever, has anything relevant to add to a discussion.

Hey Mac, go weep that your greatest military in the world ( at the time LOL) was defeated by a bunch of rag tag drunk guys who were sick of some d-bag across the ocean trying to take over the world.

Matchpak has a lot of things to say about Muslims in other discussions, and matchpak you should know this better:

Unlike Pakistan where people get persecuted if their religious beliefs dont match with the majority. Canada is nothing like that, people of all kinds are living in harmony just like the Islamic interpretation of heaven + you could get more than 72 escorts ...depends how long you can last.

It would be more of a culture shock for someone of your kind than someone who is American 3 or 4 generation... common sense right?

You constantly feel your Islamic values are threatened, if you fear so much stay in Pakistan (only muslim country where mosques are being attacked by muslims...go figure!!!).

I know the admin will remove this post but I thought I'd share my feelings
