Got a Passport request message from CIC, is that a good news? any help?

When did you submit your application?
I applied on 8th of December. How would I know If I applied under SPP or GENERAL because there is no option for those while submitting online application?

I applied on 2nd December. I think the SPP application comes beyond the 'continue to sign-in Partner' link on the myCIC login page.
"continue to GC Key" was what I did. I am afraid, that's the one you did too. I can't be so sure, coz, that's not my place of expertise.
