Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi all,
I have finally managed to find a job offer (as a computer programmer), and now they'd like to proceed with the LMO.
I have found this position on one of the main advertising websites, they had been advertising for 3 weeks now.

Should I ask my employer-to-be to start posting at the job bank aswell? How does it work exactly? Is this necessary?

Also, does anyone know how to check if the offered salary meets the minimum requirements?
Cause I have already had two LMO denied for this reason, but this time the salary is higher.

Thanks to anyone that could help!

yes you are right lmo can be reject if your employer does not offer minimum standard wages which is based on the labour market information according to the canadian province where you will apply and second thing you will not apply for lmo it's your employer responsibility to get approved positive lmo from hrsdc .he has to be prove that he has done reasonable effort to hire or train canadian citizen and permanent resident but he did not find any qualified suitable candidate for this job . i will suggest to don't take any chance in these days because hrsdc is getting strict.advertisement must be minimum 14 calender days during the three month prior to applying for an lmo and advertisement must be in weekly or periodic newspapers, journals, newsletters, national/regional newspapers, ethnic newspapers/newsletters or free local newspapers; after that you can apply for lmo any time.for more information go tohttp://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/temp_assessment.shtml
don't ignore any requirement from hrsdc because i got rejection 2 times then finally i got positive lmo if you don't understand any thing or not fully confident then don't apply yourself take experts help
best of luck

It is a good idea to familiarize yourself with the process as sometimes employers at new at applying. General LMO information here:

http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/index.shtml

To find out the prevailing wage for your NOC, enter the job title and location at this link:

http://www.workingincanada.gc.ca/report-eng.do?area=25245&lang=en&noc=2221&province=48&action=final&titleKeyword=seed%20technologist

It is an absolute must that they advertise at least the prevailing wage or the LMO will be denied.

Yes, they need to advertise for a minimum of 14 days on Job Bank. You're fortunate that it is up and running again. We have been delayed for almost 3 weeks in re-applying for an LMO due to all the technical problems.

Follow this link to see the assessment criteria for an LMO:

http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/temp_assessment.shtml

Unintentionally, my employer used different wording in the Job Bank ad than they used on the LMO application. Service Canada denied it because of that. (They are advertising and we are applying again.) There are lots of little things that can cause it to be denied. Hopefully your employer follows the instructions very carefully. Good luck to you!!

Job Bank is a good place to start. It isn't always easy finding an employer that will apply for an LMO. It's not impossible either, but you do need to be persistent in applying and writing good cover letters. Good luck to you!

Hi,

My situation is similar to some of you. I am currently working with a company and they agreed to give me an LMO, but this is their first time, so they know as little about the LMO as I do.

This job was only advertised on Linkedin for about a month and they conducted interviews and gave me the offer. It was not advertised on a jobbank. I need the LMO to extend my work permit, for that, does it need to be advertised on the job bank? and if it does, does it make sense to advertise now that they have already recruited me?

Sad to say Service Canada are very strict these days...the chance of getting postive LMO is slim to none if they only advertised it in Linkedin...If its low skilled job they have to advertised it in the underrepresented people(e.g. disabled, ethnic group, youth and employment insurance(unemployed)) in the province where the job is located. They have to advertised it in different ways like newspaper, job Bank, employment websites and underrepresented groups..Furthermore...It takes 4 weeks for the duration of the advertising...I urge you to visit the SErvice Canada so you can see it yourself and see the Program REquirements for LMO process..

I ,myself underwent the ardous process in getting LMO and my employer was denied many times. I applied in another category for Residency right now.
P.S Be aware of the employer/agency if theyre asking you hefty amount of money. No LMO. No Placement Fee.
