Got 1 year study permit please help

Hi everyone..
My sister just got 1 year study permit so what are the option after that?
Pls advise for those who had experience it because i know supposed to be 5 year right?
Pls correct me if i'm wrong..thanks in advance for aby inputs;6)

Hi Cinderalla, if she goes one province she can get PR after one year program. it is sasketachewan. try any collage there.no other option.

Actually, she is temporary worker before in the fastfood but when changes comes it's very hard to get new LMO/ LMIA. We want her to stay here in Alberta and get a better future rather than going back home.
We applied for study permit but it confused me because why only 1 year?
Meaning we have to renew it later?
Because I believe 1 year for certificate and 2 years for diploma..
And to be able to apply for PR later is you have to study 2 years atleast as one of the requirement?

what I know most students usually opt for either 2 year or 1+1 year (with gap no less than 3 months between both courses ) for PR . Requirement for PR is not the time u maintain student status. Its more about the work experience u obtain on ur work permit . Most province require 12-24 months work experience plus job to apply for PR .

study permit is given only for the length of the study. if you show evidence that you secured admission in a one year degree then you will be given only one year permit.
longer the stay in canada, higher are the chances for PR though, it does not stand true for every case.
in order to get PR in canada one must have job experience of canada. as you stay longer, your chances of finding a job increases and so, does the chance for PR.

yes .. u gotta apply for another program before the previous one ends . in this way . u or ur relative or whoever it is, will maintain a student status for 2 years and will get 3 year work permit . ))
