Does anyone know how long after you cross you can bring the goods to follow when moving into Canada? Do you have a month? Six months? A year? I can't find any documentation anywhere about the length of time you are permitted to bring these remaining goods after you move.

I could not find anything about time limits either. I would be surprised if there are any. The definitions are regarding type of goods, rather than when.

I agree that it would be wise to contact CBSA directly. I have found the officers very helpful and I am fairly certain that they will tell you, or point you to someone that can give you a clear answer.

Good luck

when i landed, i was told there is no time limit. you can bring the stuff in 10 years later and it won't be a concern.

I have one question.

These goods to follow can be brought by yourself in a later time?

Explaining: I am going to do a short landing in December and I will come back to my native country in a week.

I intend to return to canada in March - If the goods i bring in my return (march) are in the "Goods to follow" form, are they exempt?

yes, goods to follow means anything you declare that you may or may not bring at a later date. this ensures you will not be charged duty on these items if/when you do bring them to canada. there is no time limit for bringing in items on your goods to follow form.

anything you list on your goods to follow form will be exempt from duty when you bring it to canada, as long as you have your form with you.

I know I need to present a separate set of BSF186 should I have goods to follow at landing. I will be shipping numerous parcels instead of one load via a shipper. In this case, should I have a separate BSF186 for each parcel I will ship instead of lumping all "goods to follow" in one set of form?
