People can reapply under new Federal points system that Kenney’s promising to unveil later this month.

From now on, Kenney says, people will be allowed to apply online, which means that if one local immigration office is backed up, say in New Delhi or Manila, applications can be handled in other offices, be they in Ottawa, Vegreville, or Warsaw. Canada will now limit the number of applications, instead of accepting 500,000 applicants for 250,000 openings. By the end of this month, Kenney says, his department will produce a new point system to fast-track applications from the most employable, skilled, and fluent would-be immigrants, including those already in the country as post-secondary students or temporary foreign workers. With such changes, Kenney vows, his department will cut waiting times from years to months.

-IS THIS MEANS THAT THEY WILL RECEIVE ONLY 250 APPLICANTS FOR EACH NOC INSTEAD OF 500
OR THIS IS ABOUT 250OOO OF THE BACKLOG INSTEAD OF 500000
-WHAT ABOUT THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY STAYING IN CANADA FOR WORK OR STUDY
WILL THEM COMPETING US BECAUSE THEY WERE IN ANOTHER CATEGORY
- AND I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW WE WILL APPLY ON LINE IS IT ABOUT SENDING APPLICATIONS ON LINE OR WHAT

Read the informative link about the new point system to be introduced.

However the information doesn't seems to be very clear whether the point system will be for FSW or other categories? What do we understand by online application?? Probably will it be an EOI system as for Australia Immigration?? Perhaps we have to wait for more clarity on this.

Any insights/ feedback on the above?? Please share.

I guess Canada is also coming up with EOI system like Australia & NZ. So, here online system would help Canada Immigration to filter the applications and which will automatically result in faster immigration process. He has clearly mentioned that his department will cut waiting times from years to months, So this is for FSW which we were expecting to be introduced in later this year.

I would request everyone to keep updated on such great news whenever u read and share it in this thread.

Keep your hopes alive since we're waiting for the Canada doors to be opened once again for all of us.

For all of us who are aspiring to apply and are waiting for new Ministerial Instructions, lets share some information about AEO. If you have any references, contacts, channels and experience in getting AEO ( Though extremely hard ) from Canada please share here so that it will enhance our chances.

Since some previous threads by experienced members suggest that FSW program will undergo a major change, the uncertainties weigh on all of us. So its worth exploring all alternative routes/channels.

Please share your opinions / inputs for the same.

r u looking for an AEO ??? I know someone who have them pre approved for Hosptiality ..let me know
 
Also, and I'm sure this will not be a popular post, they should have a system in place to weed out fake job experience letters made by applicants to get into an NOC (I say this cause I have seen the most in 0613) - causes genuine applicants to lose out and Canada is not really getting the skill set required.
