Government of Canada is committed to increase Parental Sponsorship applications from 5000 to 10,000. Has stopped accepting applications after 14,000 .

This is not false information: read following:

Notice – Closing of the parent and grandparent application period
Ottawa, January 7, 2016—Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) received more than 14,000 new parent and grandparent applications since the program re-opened on January 4, 2016.

Intake is now closed while we review the applications received. The first 5,000 complete applications received will be placed in the inventory queue.

Canada is committed to reuniting families and the Government of Canada is seeking to increase the intake of parent and grandparent sponsorship applications from 5,000 to 10,000 per year. In light of this commitment, IRCC will retain the first 10,000 complete applications.

More information on this increase will be forthcoming, including information on when we will be returning applications not added to the inventory. Check our website for updates on the next program opening date.

I suggest you refrain from posting false information.

As stated on that page, the government is "seeking to increase" the cap but has not yet done so, nor have they confirmed that they definitely will be.

That's a little better than how it sounded the other day, but still no commitment to more than 5,000 applications this year. They just found a loophole by "retaining" 10,000 complete applications this time.

It is not totally false. It says they will "retain 10000 applications" which means they will be keeping 5000 more applications. eventhough it is not confirmed that they will processing them this year they will probably add them to the queu (next year?).

Where did the OP make that statement?

All I see in his/her post, is something that was copied form a website, stating that the government of Canada is `seeking to increase the intake'...which is not the same as saying that it's already been done.

Immigration Minister John McCallum says 10,000 applications for reunification of parents and grandparents will be accepted this year, despite a notice posted on the government's web site earlier this week cautioning applicants that a 5,000 annual cap was still in place.

In an interview Friday on CBC News Network's Power & Politics, McCallum said the government received over 14,000 new applications from Canadians who want to sponsor their parents and grandparents after it re-opened the program on Monday.

this is nice and more chance for people to sponsor their family(parents). Hope the processing also speeds up so parents can actually make it to Canada for these sponsors.
