If you have not yet submitted an application to sponsor your spouse or partner but plan to do so, the application will not be dealt with as part of our backlog reduction efforts, but it will be processed as quickly as possible.

i am so glad that harper wasn't reelected.

On the flip side, one thing I would have liked to see though is some numbers. How many applications are in the backlog, how many are stalled due to different reasons like missing documents or things like criminal/medical inadmissibility etc... It seems to me that straightforward applications like ours (which have none of these issues), will continue to be processed with the same high priority as always. I also agree that they should divert more of the phase 2 applications to the Ottawa VO or others which have proven to be very efficient compared to other VOs abroad. There is a thread on the forum here talking about a US applicant that got their PR in 1 month processed through Ottawa! Wouldn't it be great if they could cut the average times in half or even more by diverting to these VOs.![]()

It's ridiculous to have to pay a measly $5 and then wait 30 days to receive the notes. We should also be able to just enter our application number and see all activity, and it's easy to hide everyone's personal information if privacy is a concern...
One other thing I realized when submitting our PRV application recently, is that they don't have a place on any form to enter the sponsors SIN number. If CIC had access to CRAs internal applications, or a direct link to it, don't you think they could get to sponsor approval in 5 minutes by looking through CRA tax history and doing a simple credit check rather than having to go through all the sponsor related documents?
