Great stuff BCGuy. Well, I still have to withdraw my application and reapply with a more 'appropriate' code (because I still fit the bill). I hate them for giving me this hassle of downloading another form, making a bank draft, and driving to the post office (again).

Thanks for the update BCGuy. Yeah i already knew that the change in ruling party is not going to make any difference, mainly because the protest for change is not revolving around this bill. Its just a side story for the opposition to get as many votes as they can to overthrow the current govt. in power. IF they do get in power next year, they would just sit on the issue doing nothing until the next elections when this would become one of the main political issues again.
To be honest I'm sick of this circus all over the world, same script is being replayed and people donot seem to get.

BC thanks alot for the news, now its just a matter of time to see what happens. By the way any idea as to what sort of time frame we might we be looking at regarding notice of further processing or possible notice of rejection and refund?

Hi everyone,

New here, can someone please help me out?

How does it work when you applied earlier this year under a code that is not on the list but you can fit into a code of the new list? Do you have to withdraw application and go back to the end of the line or can you send them a letter amending the code? Proving a valid reason. Thanks!

I'm not sure if you can really amend anything on yr application other than yr address. So, to re-apply seems to be the only option

If you have a valid reason for amending it, I would try amending it. Wasn't there a woman on this board saying her husband applied as a supervisor of electricians which he is but is not on the list. However, electrician is on the list and of course he is that too. In a case like that, I would definitely try to amend. If they wont amend, let them reject and you can apply again.

Hi BCGuy,

So this would mean that the 38 occupational list would only apply. My concern is how often would the list be updated/amended/revised to accommodate other in demand professions like Dentists, Paramedicals, Secretaries/PA's/Admin Assistants, IT Programmers, CEO's, Engineering Managers, Civil Engineers, Geodetic Engineers, Surveyors and Architects in particular. These jobs are also considered in the high demand list. Please advise as my husband is falling under one of these jobs. At least this would give us the idea when to re-apply when we receive our refusal letters. By the way, we have just applied and the Visa office received our application on Nov 7. We were told to wait for the AOR which seems to be negative now. I also would like to try other avenues like applying for PNP in your province. Can I PM you?

I would appreciate your advise. Thank you.
