A Lawyer arranged a job for my cousin and made her move to BC from ON and assured PNP + PR within an year.
She started to work in Oct 2014, She did not apply under Regular PNP and decided to apply under EE pnp without the lawyer's permission thinking that it is fast.
Because regular PNP in BC takes 13-14 months now.
The lawyer did not like it and kept asking her diff documents to make it delay..
And now the cap has reached and she cant apply under EE PNP or Regular PNP.
When we inquired about this lawyer, we realized that he will get $2/hour from all employers for each person he arranging job. Because this is a Remote area and not easy to get workers.. And those amount will be deducted from their salary..
He was making alot of money through this and how long they stay with the same employer, that long he will get the money.
he will get them PNP and PR at the end.., but will take years.... and he will help to extend the work permit as well. (which will be a closed WP so that they cant leave the employer until they get the PR).
Now my cousin's WP is going Expire in 2 months and he said he can arrange LMIA for her (again closed WP for same employer) but will apply for PR only after 6 months... even if its easy to get ITA with LMIA.
She has no choice now but just follow what he says- because the WP will expire in Jan.
I came to know all these recently only and its too late now..
So I dont trust any consultancies - they only aim their profit and we will have no IDEA what they are doing for us..
So its my opinion- I am not saying, everyone do the same.. But there are some frauds....

Many applicants apply on their own in order to save money or they are capable of finding information on their own in such cases no need to hire a lawyer. However we are in extreme frustration and dont want to mess up anything so hired a lawyer.
