Hi Guys!
I'm sure there's a thread somewhere but I can't find the right one. I came into Canada on an eTA, got married then requested a visa extension while gathering documents and requirements for PR application (haven't applied for PR yet). The visa extension was granted for a year. I've read that the extension would be void when exiting Canada, except if only going to the US and back.

Was just wondering if any has experienced this. Was the extension void upon entering back into Canada from the US? Refuse entry?

Would really appreciate some info.

Thanks!!

Yes. All of the above.

Yes you were refused entry? What ended up happening? Please do share

Yes, all what you said is true:

- Visitor extension is void when exiting Canada.
- Only exception is travelling to the USA (with certain conditions).
- Many people have been refused reentry.

Would you know what the "certain conditions" are?
I can still come in with an eTA right?
I have receipts for my PR application and my marriage certificate. I'm only going to New York

You can query conditions in the cic website. You can start here:

Still come? I thought you were in Canada already.

Return on eTA? Well, technically yes, this is up to the CBSA officer.
