My GF is working in Canada on a 2 year work permit with a company and lmo. She has 2 year Multi entry VISA .
Her Father is very sick at the moment in Philippines. She has been in Canada working for approximately 8 months

The question is .

Can she go to visit her father in Philippines for 3 weeks and be able to return to Canada without any problems.

What documents would she need to return to Canada.

Do you for see any problems that may occur.

Thanks in advance

Yes,she can go home to visit. She just needs a letter from the employer as proof of employment and letter that she was allowed to go on vacation and is expected to come back. She will need this to get an OEC (overseas employment certificate) at the POEA. As well as so she can show this to immigration or customs officers if she is asked. And make sure to bring the valid work permit with her and visa and passport of course.

Is there any reason they would reject her from coming back to Canada. she is scared om immigration refusing her even tho everything is legal. Also scared of Philippines not letting her leave.

I just want to reassure her it will all be ok.

As long as she has all the things I told you she should need there would be no problem, I've done this twice. lol.

Make sure she gets the oec from poea, she needs that to be allowed to leave from the Philippine airport.

don't let her bring unnecessary stuff from the philippines, like canned goods, chicharon, or too much cigarettes cause she may have to pay duty or might get a fine if that is not allowed by the customs.

check here what is allowed or not: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/travel-voyage/ifcrc-rpcrc-eng.html

I do not remember being asked very much about my paper work when I came back to Canada, they just check my passport, visa, work permit.
I just had the letter from the employer with me just in case.

Hi all seniors ,

I also have a similar question to ask help:

I am still living in Venezuela now, and received my TRV for WP recently, my pnp is still in processing, and will flight to Toronto airport to transfer another flight to China in September because my wife is expecting a baby. I will flight back Canada in Jan. 2014, to start my job first time. ( I need to stay in the airport for 20 hrs to transfer another flight.)
I know I need meet the customer when I first enter Toronto for my WP. My concern is whether the customer officer will question me that I enter Canada with WP only for transfer, and make rejection to me? Or there will be a problem when I enter Canada in Jan, 2014 because I don't have an employer letter since I haven't start my job yet?
Very worry about my situation. :( Please help! Any suggestion will be very appreciated!
