2007, I've left philippines to work in taiwan, then 2009 fly here to Canada to work under live in caregiver program. Now, after 5 years, i'm going home for a vacation, I am on a OWP expiring 2016, currently employed, Had my visa renewed, and a ticket ready for a month of vacation this December landing in Cebu. Now, just heard from a friend about OEC? Overseas Employment Certificate? What is this? do i need to get this as soon as i get to Cebu? or I could get it from my hometown, Zamboanga City? just clueless. why do we need all of this? Share Please! Thanks!

Hi..if u are from Toronto area..you can get OEC from the Philippines Consulate located at the 8th floor (POLO office) 161 Eglinton Ave east..just bring with you your passport,letter of your employer,your open work permit form,can $2.75 for the fee..the validity of OEC is 60 days upon issuance..enjoy your vacation. 
You can get also from the Philippines,POEA balik manggagawa or any POEA office close to your place or city.
