So the Situation is I got 1 year Study Permit & Visa and I came to Canada and started my studies. Then as I took on more courses i needed more time so got my Study permit and Visa extended for more 2 years lately and now for some reason i need to go back to my home country for approx 8-9 months keeping my studies on hold.

So my question is that will this 8-9 months of being out of Canada will effect my Visa or Study Permit in any ways? Will it get cancelled or invalidated in anyways ?

Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

I recommend asking a professional, or if someone in this forum has undergone the same situation.

As far as I understand your visa will not be invalidated but you need to inform CIC of a change in your circumstances, and if you inform them they may cancel your visa "without prejudice". If you do not do that, then when you arrive at the airport after 9 months, the immigration officer might not let you in as they would not believe that your are a "bonafide student".

when i come back i will be having a letter from my school stating them i am enrolled with them and was away for a long time. Will this be helpful?

Inform as is like what and how? Do you mean i should give up my student status while going and for coming back apply again ?

Please explain in detail if you can.

Thanks
