Hi everyone,

I need some help because i am not sure about what i need to do in my situation.
I've been to Canada as an exchange student in fall, it was only for 4 months so I didn't need a study permit. Now i am back to France and I would like to go to Canada again for 6 months of a training course in a Dance School.
As this Dance School is not a university, and the program is only for 6 months, I read that I don't need a study permit either.

So now i wonder if I can go to Canada again without any visa, or if I should try to extend my visitor permit because it is written on my passeport that I entered Canada for the first time in august, so my visitor status expires in february.
I looked for information about extending a visitor permit, and i got that it is for people that are still on the Canadian territory. So I am confused, really need some help to clarify this situation ???

Thank you :)

You Need to apply for TRV as you applied before when u attended 4 months course. if your previous visa was multiple entry and still valid ... you can go right away and once in Canada; you can apply for extension.

I hope this helped.

Thank you very much Panasonic :)

Just to make sure: If i enter Canada again, showing that i have a plane ticket to go back to my country six months later, just saying that i plan to extend my TRV it's absolutely ok ? (considering that i can also justify my financial resources etc)

Because i have other answer on a French forum :s
You can't extend a TRV, you can only renew it. If your TRV expires before entering Canada again then you have to renew it.

The visitor status that you got in August expired when you exit Canada. You can't extend a status that already expired.

If the program is less than 6 months then yes, just coming as a visitor is absolutely ok. Keep in mind the CBSA can give you less than 6 months when you enter.
