Going back home while waiting for a PR card

I'm waiting for my landing interview...and then I will have to wait up to 3 months to get the PR card....does anybody know if I can get a travel document before I get the card, as I know it takes 30 days to get it. I really want to visit my family back home as soon as possible and I do not want to wait another 2-3 months...
Did anybody do that?

Recently I've had clients receive their PR cards in 4 to 6 weeks. And you could always get someone to courier you the PR card when it arrives.

Yes. You would apply for it at the Canadian embassy in your home country.
