Yes, I know there r not that many of us. we should all stick together to share our journey. I'm married, no kids yet though. I'm planning on applying for my police clearance this month. Do u hv dependents? Honestly, I'm not even worried about the waiting for pr right now. I just want to get my OP and get a chance to spread my wings. Come join the other thread. We all hv similar timelines there. ;D

Just like to share my day with getting OEC here at POeA in our city. Yesterday, I've started processing my OEC and payed the requirements and was just wondering and asked the in charge to double check my record because she said that I have NRF( no record found ) which puts me to category direct hire not under balik mangagawa. So I've paid 100$ instead of 100 pesos for the poea fee. She said that its because I went straight to Canada after working in Taiwan. I've worked in Taiwan for 2 years since 2007 the went straight to Canada 2009. And processing is too slow, went there at 1pm this afternoon and finished at 7pm. The in charge told me that next time I have my vacation, I will only pay 100 pesos, I answered there'll be no next time. Lol! And a lot of fuss with the contract, I said I don't have a contract and an Lmo because I'm In a open permit, in which they don't get. Oh well! I'm done now. Got my OEC and would just hope that I won't have a problem exiting next year. Now, it's time to have a merry Christmas!

Help! here is my situation... I came to Canada to work as a live in caregiver in January 19, 2011. where i got my work permit that expired January 19, 2013.I didn't started working until February 1, 2011. Now i am planning to apply for PR i don't know if i should send in my papers January or February when i started working? i apply to extend my permit being that it expired January 19, 2013. what if January 19, 2013 pass and no permit should i stop working? and can i still send in my PR application February? please help me.

Hi sweetiepie. U would officially b finished ur two yrs on Jan 31st 2013. So u will b able to apply February (providing that u don't hv any gaps in ur employment). This period also includes the 10 days vacation allowed to us. As for me, I will send my application mid February (just to b on the safe side). I just feel more comfortable to hv a little extra time just to b on the safe side. Although I've never missed a day of wrk and I always wrk bk on a wknd if I borrow any weekdays. You do not hv to stop wrking if u hvnt received ur renewal yet. U will b on implied status and we r allowed to continue working as long as it's the same employer. The only thing is that u won't b able to renew ur health card n sin untill u get the new one. Don't worry about that though cuz u should get ur new work permit approximately 76 days (as per cic website). Best of luck. Will b in touch.

Hey Sweetiepie. I haven't gotten around to getting the police record done yet. I have to find sometime to visit the fingerprinting place. I'll b using the Commisionaires in Scarbourough. I used them before and it was accepted baack home so I will go back there. The local police say the do not do fingerprinting aanymore so I guess our only option is the RCMP or a private company like Commisionaires. I found them by googling fingerprinting services. I want to get it done by the first week of Jan to get it out of the way. Then there is the couriering back and forth. Hope u found a reliable place in your area.
